Shockwave therapy administers high dosages of energy to painful and problematic areas to trigger tissue healing and regeneration. It does this by sending acoustic sound waves into problematic areas to increase blood flow. The sound waves break down scar tissue, calcifications and trigger points in muscles.

Pain relief, with shockwave therapy can be felt after the first session and a treatment plan typically consists of 5-10 sessions, 1-2 times per week or as determined by Dr. Kevin DeRouen who is certified in shockwave therapy through Shockwave Centers of America. Before beginning treatment, we will have you fill out a health questionnaire that Dr. Kevin will review with you to determine if shockwave therapy is safe for you.

Do I have to be a chiropractic patient to receive shockwave therapy?

No, we would love for everyone to receive chiropractic care, but if you do not want chiropractic care or already have another chiropractor, we can do shockwave therapy completely independently.

Does insurance cover shockwave therapy?

No insurance does not cover shockwave therapy. We will discuss pricing prior to beginning the first treatment.

What is the success rate for this kind of treatment?

Successful treatment is considered as a patient having at least 75% pain reduction within 3 months. Most patients will notice a reduction in pain and/or an increase in range of motion within the first 2-4 weeks.
